Seeing & observing
Line, shape, proportion and how to translate what you see onto paper.
Session two
Light, shadow & form
Tonal value, volume and making two-dimensional work feel dimensional.
Session three
Colour & composition
Colour relationships, visual hierarchy and creating a compelling image.
Session four
Material & expression
Explore mark-making, texture and technique; begin developing an individual direction.
Session five
Guided working session
Apply the fundamentals, receive individual critique and refine the piece for presentation.

The show
Your work on the wall, your process shared, your progress celebrated with invited guests.
Who it's for
Adults who want to get better at seeing.
Each session builds on the last, so the course runs as one group from the first evening to the show.
